The Beatles – Paperback Writer

There are two documented label variants for this 1966 issue of Paperback Writer. One has a 'normal' font and has the label matrix indented compared to the the Publishing/Rights Society text (NORTHERN SONGS, NCB) above it. it also has a large Ⓟ1966, the Ⓟ being taller than the date. The other variant has a thinner 'tall' font and has the label matrix exactly left aligned with the the Publishing/Rights Society text (NORTHERN SONGS, NCB) above it. The publishing date has a smaller ℗ - ℗1966 it being smaller than the date. This release has the 'normal' font, indented label matrix and the large Ⓟ1966. Note also the increased indent of Ⓟ1966 on the B side compared to the A side. This has been documented in 'Beatles For Sale On Parlophone Records' by Bruce Spizer and Frank Daniels. Ⓟ1966. Britain The runouts are stamped, the separate letters between the strings and KT are tilted just like the digits at the end First press has -2 -2 matrices The first green sleeve seems to be the "canonically" correct sleeve now and was recreated for the Revolver Box Set, first pressings however came with either this or any of the 3 Fran The Fan variations
